Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Stylage Hydro and Stylage Hydromax?
Hydro is best for skin with moderate dehydration. It also has an antiageing effect and improves skin elasticity. It is suitable for younger clients who are just looking for a freshness boost.
HydroMax is aimed at intensely dry or sagging skin. As well as improving hydration and skin quality, it improves skin elasticity. It is best suited for clients who have fine wrinkles during facial expressions or who have wrinkles at rest.
What does Hydro treatment involve?
The treatment consists of multiple micro-injections performed into the superficial dermis of the face, neck, décolleté or back of the hand using very fine needles
What does Hydromax Treatment involve?
There are a few method of administration depending upon the desired result.
Specific fine lines can be targeted and injected directly.
For a general Hydromax lift, 5 injection points on either side of the face can be used to spread the gel under the skin covering the whole face.
What's the difference between skinboosters and Profhilo?
Profhilo is a collagen stimulator and remodeler aimed at improving laxity and sagging whereas these skin boosters are aimed more at hydration and improvement of elasticity.
Generally skin boosters are more appropriate for younger clients whereas I recommend Profhilo to older clients.

Does it hurt?
The injections sting briefly but most patients report only mild discomfort. Anaesthetic cream can be used before treatment.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime, but be aware that, depending upon the procedure that you have, there may be several small prick marks on your face which may be obvious for the rest of the day.
Are there any risks or side-effects?
The hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body so is fully metabolised over time.
As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of bruising, redness, tenderness at the injection site or allergic response. Any side effects generally resolve within hours or days.
What aftercare is recommended?
Immediately after treatment you should avoid wearing make-up, and give sports, swimming and any other strenuous physical activity a miss for 24 hours. It is also best to avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days after treatment.
