Which areas can be treated with Profhilo

The face, neck, decolletage, knees, elbows and hands are all suitable for treatment with Profhilo.

What does Profhilo treatment involve?

10 superficial injections of Profhilo are administered to face or neck. It is recommended to have a course of 2 initial treatments 2-4 weeks apart and results are expected after around 4 weeks.

How long does Profhilo last?

Results generally last from 6-12 months depending on the individual. It is recommended to have a maintenance treatment every 3-6 months.

Does it hurt?

The injections sting briefly but most patients report only mild discomfort. Anaesthetic cream can be used before treatment.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime with Profhilo.

 It is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours before treatment.

Are there any risks or side-effects?

The hyaluronic acid in Profhilo is naturally occurring in the body so is fully metabolised over time.

As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of bruising, redness, tenderness at the injection site or allergic response. Any side effects generally resolve within hours or days.

What aftercare is recommended?

Immediately after treatment you should avoid wearing make-up, and give sports, swimming and any other strenuous physical activity a miss for 24 hours.  It is also best to avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days after treatment.

Are there any contraindications?

Profhillo cannot be administered in any of the following circumstances;

–Active skin disease or infection at the injection sites

–Auto immune diseases 

–Oral retinoid treatment

–Recent scar tissue

–Topical retinoids other aesthetic treatments in the last 2 weeks

–Anti coagulants

–Pregnancy

    Breast feeding
